MEET OUR TEAM MEMBERS
Meet Vickie King! Vickie, an Illinois native, is a Storm Services’ site manager and caterer. As a site manager, Vickie would be responsible for overseeing the daily operations that take place on site for the duration of the event. This includes such things as managing the arrival of Storm Services’ equipment, assisting with the site layout, and leading safety meetings. Once the site is closed, Vicki would be responsible for ensuring that the equipment is removed safely and promptly. During this process, she would check that the site location is being left in as good or better condition as in which it was found. Vicki is great as a site manager because she is a very good leader and an exceptional motivator! She has a gift for working well under pressure and is a problem solver. Vickie is known for finding solutions to challenges that arise when on a storm site, which makes her an extremely valuable member of the team.
Vickie’s first responsibility as a Storm Services’ caterer would be to set up the catering trailer once she and the catering team arrived on site. After that, they would be able to start cooking and serving all the tasty food for which Storm Services is known! The catering team is such an important part of a successful base camp. Good food can serve as a huge “morale boost” to those that have spent their day helping to restore an area that suffered a hit from a natural disaster.
During a storm, Vickie and her husband, Frank, often work together on a site. They have three children: Tony, Tabatha, and Taylor, all of whom have worked on multiple base camp sites. When asked about one of her favorite Storm Services’ memories, Vickie replied, “Every site has been unforgettable in one way or another.” Vickie is certainly unforgettable to us and we are honored to have her as a team member!
